One of the best things about traveling across Canada is eating a variety of different and delicious foods. There are a number of cities in Canada that offer great restaurants with great food. If you are planning to travel in Canada, below is a list of the top ten foodie cities in Canada:

1. St. John's, Newfoundland: Newfoundland has some of the best tasting cuisine. Inspired by the First Nations groups and the early settlers, the Irish and Scottish, you will be able to enjoy delicious home-style cooking. Fish is a popular dish and is served in such forms as fish and chips, seal flipper pie, fishcakes, fish and brewis, cod tongues, and cod cheeks. Other delicious foods include: Figgy Duff, Toutons (fried bread dough), partridgeberries, baked apples, and blueberries.

2. Halifax, Nova Scotia: Nova Scotia is famous for its fish. In Halifax, you will find such fish dishes as: oysters, scallops, mussels, lobster, salmon, chowders, and fish and chips. Delicious fruits include blueberries, strawberries, and apples. Champagne type cider from the Annapolis Valley is very popular.

3. Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island: Price Edward Island is famous for its lobster. Cultured mussels and oysters are also popular. As well, chocolate covered potato chips are a delicious treat.

4. Fredericton, New Brunswick: In New Brunswick, it is all about seafood and potatoes. Spring is the time for delicious fiddleheads. 7. Ottawa, Ontario: Ottawa is home to the Culinary Arts Institute and Le Cordon Bleu. BeaverTail is a popular food featured in Ottawa's restaurants. President Barack Obama enjoyed a BeaverTail when he visited Ottawa. There are also farmers markets that sell a variety of baked goods, cheeses, and seasonal produce.
