Northern Thailand - much to see

When thinking of Thailand, we often think of Bangkok shopping, clubbing and maybe some more shopping. Or maybe Phuket and its beautiful beaches and many places on the beach. But most who do spend some 'time in Thailand, there are many more throughout the country.

Northeast Thailand is a place of ancient culture and tradition, but even after many years of tourism - the area is relatively unknown.

After two hours of flight aboard Thai AirwaysBangkok, we landed on the flight to Nong Khai, a border town between Thailand and Laos on the banks of the Mekong River. A "friendship bridge linking the two peoples and the province is the gateway to the capital of Laos' Vientinane is the beautiful and peaceful.

House in Nongkhai DAT 200 years ago, with the towns that dot the riverbank. Many ancient temples on the river finds the Tha Bo - Chiang You may find the route.

Nongkhai is 615 km fromChos noise and beautiful of Bangkok and covers an area of 7,332 km square, with the maximum length of the Mekong large content inside its borders - 320 km.

We drove quickly progress towards Laos, across the bridge of friendship, and from there to Vientiane.

The current capital of Vientiane, the former capital of Luang Prabang replaced - now one of the most popular tourist destinations destinations Laos' - many years ago, is a relaxing alternative to the freneticmost of the capitals of Southeast Asia. Much smaller than other cities (total population of Laos' only 5 million people), Vientiane, the range, open roads, and the mixture of French colonial and traditional Asian architecture give the city as a whole, the rustic charm . Attractions for counting visitors. That Luang shrine and the nation at the expense of fear, Ho Phra Keo, once the image of the Emerald Buddha, now enshrined in neighboring Thailand

Phra Keo was built in 1565 by King Setthathiratand built the house the Emerald Buddha, which took place the king, in fact, Thailand. Although the Thais have already taken in 1779 and today there are no monks in residence is the original building is now a living museum of religious art and his collection includes a Khmer stone Buddha, a wooden copy of the famous Luang Prabang and a jar of transplanted interesting and elusive Plain of Jars in northern Laos, thousands of huge stone jars cover.

After a satisfactoryLunch of regional specialties, we prepared for the trip back to Bangkok and then home.
